Andy Swan

Andy Swan

I can finally publish the Dutch version of my indie blog again. It was just a little mistake of myself. I had just checked a box that I shouldn't have checked. Stupid! I had to ask the helpdesk in the US for help for something I should have found myself. I had written the seven Dutch posts, but they couldn't be published. The loyal Dutch reader has some catching up to do while I continue with my post of today. This one is about a singer/songwriter and his name is  Andy Swan from Toronto, Canada.

You might know him as the frontman of The Michael Parks, a band from Toronto who used to carry the name Detective Kalita. Apparently Andy Swan or Swanny, which is his nickname, writes more songs than the band can handle and maybe that's the reason why he just has released his second solo album. His solo debut was "A.M. at the H.O.M." from 2005 and earlier this year he has released the EP "Sunshine" on Kelp Records. Now he has released the CD "Ottawa" on the same label. The music of Andy Swan could be called Americana nut actually it's just nice sounding country music. If you're looking for a pretty sing along song which will stick in your head for days, you should definitely listen to "Can I Pay You in Sunshine?". With such a song on your radio you should be driving through the States in your eighteen-wheeler. The second song from below could be considered a first Christmas song.
