I'm pretty busy at the moment. When I get home after a day of work, I haven't got much energy to get behind my Mac to search for a nice band and to write a post about them. That's why I'm very glad that an increasing number of bands send e-mails to me to tell me that they've released something new. If this music is good enough, I'm very well inclined to pay some attention to that band. This also goes for Sir Salvatore from San Francisco.
Guitarist/singer David Lean and drummer/singer Alejandro Soini met each other through mutual friends. Guitarist Eric Szyslowski reacts to an advertisement 'Musician wanted' and ex-professional basketball player and bass player Tim Botsford completes the quartet Sir Salvatore.
A little year after this, in the spring of 2007 they release their first EP "Those Men Are Not Astronauts" on which you can find the wonderful "Hooray This Projector". Their music is related to the music of guitar bands like Television and The Strokes and this song is an excellent prove. The songs on their new EP "Continental Breakfast" sound at least as good. Maybe Sir Salvatore is not the saviour of pop music, but their contribution is reason enough for me to keep on working on my blog(s). Bands like this deserve a lot more attention.
