The most interesting collection of music is without a doubt "Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968", a box with four CDs on which you'll find 93 songs, from beautiful to suberb. Some of these songs are famous, like "Louie, Louie" from The Kingsmen and "Incense and Peppermints" from Strawberry Alarm Clock, but most of the tracks will be unknown to most people. I think that the biggest compliment for a new band could be that their music would fit on Nuggets perfectly. I would like to say this about the music of The Old Haults. This garage rock band from Olympia, Washington is founded in 2001 and the current line-up is Craig Extine (vocals and guitar), Scott Seckington (bass) and Tobi Vail (drums). You might know her from Bikini Kill. The Old Haults are often compared to Sonics (from Nuggets), but also to The Gun Club and Television. Their record production started with two selfreleased EPs, which were followed by the CDs "Fallow Field" (2005), "Fuel's On Fire" (2006) and the most recent album "Poisonous Times" which will be released by Kill Rock Stars in a few weeks. The Old Haults know what the essence of rock 'n roll is!
