Hello, Blue Roses

Hello Blue Roses

When I was younger, I sometimes bought an album after just hearing one track. That's why it sometimes happened that the rest of the album wasn't as good as that one song. I can become very enthusiastic about a song very fast. This enthusiasm doesn't always stay that strong, but these songs stay one of my favorites. This also happened last weekend when I heard just one song of Hello, Blue Roses.

I've read the name of Dan Bejar from Vancouver, Canada several times on my searches on the many websites about indie music. He is one of the members of Swan Lake and New Pornographers about which I have written before, but he also writes and records music as Destroyer. And now he has recorded an album with his wife, singer and visual artist  Sydney Vermont under the splendid name Hello, Blue Roses. This CD will be released by the Locust label. First I had just heard the song "Shadow Falls" from this album and I immediately loved that song. Tonight I heard the title song of "Hello, Blue Roses" on the MySpace-page of the duo and this song is even better. I mean, it's a fantastic song! This probably means that I was write about this album and now I want to hear the rest...
