Those who read my blog regularly, will probably know that I like guitar music more than other kinds of music. Usually my preference are bands with a distinctive guitar sound. However, my taste of music is broader like you could read yesterday. I have some synth pop in my CD-collection and Depeche Mode has been a favourite band for years. And I even love poet/songwriter Anne Clarke and that's who I thought of when I heard Saralunden last weekend.
Sara Lunden from Sweden uses the artist name Saralunden and she started her musical career when she was on the Stockhol Art School. Her music is influenced by many kinds of music like disco, schlager, chanson, electronica and minimal wave. Her live show is a kind of performance during which Sara wears all kinds of theatrical costumes. She often works with other musicians like the Norwegians Kyrre Björkås and Andreas Mjös on the CD "Dubious" and the Ukranian Andrey Kiritchenko on the CD "There Was No End". Both CDs were recently released by Nexsound. You can find a sample of both albums at the bottom of this post and the third song is from the Songbook on the website from Saralunden.
