A Wheather

A Wheather photo by Chris MullikenDutch winters are a lot less cold than they used to be. That's what the older people tell me. I'm also not that young anymore and I can remember that we had some colder winters in my youth. Not that often, but it happened. I live in this house for 23 years now and in the first years I have had some trouble with frozen water pipes. It happened two or three times and it's at least fifteen years ago. A Dutch winter is like the wheather today: grey, some rain and about 8 degrees Celsius. Wheater to enjoy A Wheater.

I think that Portland, Oregon has a very lively indie-scene. At least, I've written about a lot of bands from this city. A Wheater is also from this state which is situated between California and Washington. Today the band consists of five musicians: Aaron Gerber, Sarah Winchester, Zach Boyle, Aaron Krenkel and Louis Thomas. The describe their own music as 'cozy music for the holidays', but when the holidays are over you could say 'cozy music for after the holidays' or even 'cozy music for the hottest part of the summer'. You could say: cozy music for the whole year. It seems that the lyrics aren't really cozy, but the music is. This is due to the fingerpicking on the acoustic guitar and the dampened vocals of Aaron Gerber and Sarah.

In April 2007 A Wheather released their debut single "The Feather Test" and early March they will release their first album "Cove". This will be done by the Team Love label from Conor Oberst from Bright Eyes
