Black Mountain

In my attempts to give unknown music a stage, I have already written about many kinds of pop and rock music but hardrock or metal hasn't been one of them. This not so strange because I don't like metal music. However there's one exception: Led Zeppelin, but I don't think they are a real metal band. Maybe they were the first band who played hardrock, but I think Led Zep is much more than just noise and screams. I could say the same about  Black Mountain and that's one of the reasons I write this post.

Black Mountain is a band from Vancouver, Canada and the band is formed by Stephen McBean, Amber Webber, Matt Camirand, Jeremy Schmidt and Joshua Wells. It's not a real hardrock band, but they are influenced by Led Zeppelin but also by Black Sabbath, Neil Young and Pink Floyd and the vocal contributions of Amber remind me of Stevie Nicks in a song like "The Green Mahalishi". Black Mountain debuted almost two years ago with a self-titled album, six months later followed by the single "Druganaut". In a week of three their second album "In the Future" will be released by Jajaguawar. The have only put one song online as a MP3, but it is the beautiful song  "Tyrants" which lasts over eight minutes.
