Fever Marlene

Fever MarleneThe Dutch are cheap. At least, that's what people often think. For instance, the English saying 'go Dutch' means that you'll share the cost of the meal or drinks at the night out. 'A Dutch treat' is almost the same. 'A Dutch auction' is an auction at which the price is reduced until a buyer is found. If we really are that cheap, my Dutch readers have to become a fan of Fever Marlene at once.

This is because you can download the albums from  Fever Marlene for free. Of course I hope that you'll like the music of Scott Starr (guitar, synthesizer, vocals) and Kevin Dunphy (drums and vocals) that much that you want to put their songs on your hard drive or iPod.

They met in a bike store about six years ago and after they discovered that they both were fans of  Flaming Lips, they soon became friends. They started writing songs together and left for Los Angeles. This move wasn't a real success and in 2005 they left for Chicago where they started working on their first recordings. They finished these songs more than a year later in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, their new hometown and the album "Civil War" was released June 2007. The guys are very active and within a few months Fever Marlene had enough songs for a new album. The songs of "White China" were recorded in four nights and five days in the famous Chelsea hotel in New York City. "White China" contains songs which are a lot vulnerable and delicate than the songs on their debut album. Just compare both songs below.
