Goodtimes Goodtimes

Musicians who make popmusic can be found in many shapes. I don't mean the build of their bodies, but the number of musicians in a band. The kind of music which was called 'beat' in the sixties is usually played by  singer/guitarist, guitarist, bass player and drummer sometimes with a keyboard player. But I don't think this is the shape which occurs the most. I suppose the solo singer/songwriter the 'band shape' which the most common. The largest number of these singers with guitar are completely unknown and a lot earn a little money with playing their music on the street. Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Donovan, John Hiatt and Steve Forbert are a few of the singer/songwriters in my music collection. The last one was called the new Dylan at the end of the seventies and I still like his debut album. I think Goodtimes Goodtimes earns a place in this small list.

Franc Cinelli is an Italian who grew up in London and started making music when he was just a small boy. Nowadays you can find him in Rome and Londen but also in New York and he performs all over these cities. His stage name is Goodtimes Goodtimes and that's also the feeling I get when I hear his songs. Franc names Johnny Cash as his most important influence, but I think his music (and voice) sounds more like Hiatt and Forbert. I think the album "Glue" by Goodtimes Goodtimes was released last December. You can listen to seven beautiful songs on MySpace and below you'll find two of the best songs. You can play or download them.
