Meho Plaza

MehoPLazaOf course I've got an impossible hobby, because it's not even possible to keep up to date with the developments in the indie scene. On internet you can find countless unknown bands and it's impossible to know them all. And I suppose this number grows every day. One hour searching on internet produces at least ten new bands or musicians and a few of them are at least interesting. I haven't found Meho Plaza myself, but I received an e-mail about this band.
MySpace is an important device for people like me: you can listen to an unknown band without downloading anything and then you can decide if I need to spend more time on that band. When I heard "I Sold My Organs" from Meho Plaza, I was very curious to know more. I wasn't sure if I like the music of Jennifer Hwang, Mike Thrasher and James Connelly enough to write a post about them. But when I had heard a few more tracks from their debut album "Meho Plaza", I was sure about it. The music of this underground trio from Los Angeles often sounds like a mix between Sonic Youth and B-52's. The CD wil be released by Better Looking Records in a week or so.
