At Christmas I was sick and now it's Eastern and the flu virus has taken me down again. It's unbelievable! No large festive meals and no visiting family, but they weren't my favorite activities anyway. A little bit of reading, a little bit of resting and a little bit of wrting for my blog. Not that I feel good enough to brood about a nice post. I'm just not able to concentrate that long. But I do want to write a piece about New Grenada and for two reasons.
First because of the first words 'Fighting of infections' of the song "Infections" from the CD "Modern Problems" from 2006. Very appropriate today. The second and most important reason is that New Grenada has just released a new EP on the sympathetic Asaurus Records. This EP is called "The Model Citizen" and it's the fourth EP since the band was founded in 2000. Besides these four EP's this band from Royal Oak, Michigan has also released three full-length CDs. On these earlier records they collabarated with people like Brendan Benson and Steve Albini.
After a lot of changes New Grenada consists of three musicians now: John Nelson, Nicole Allie and Dave Melkonian, but those who have read this blog before know that three is enough. Just listen...>mp3: January 1st
