Palodine

Palodine America is the land of possibilities. I'm not sure if this is still true, because I think that it's not going very well will the US. I mean political and economical. I think it's going very well musically. The most interesting music today is from the United States, if you look at the total picture. At least, that's what I think. I've written about large number of bands and Palodine is another one. The music of Palodine is no Americana, but sometimes it sounds a bit like it. The often rather dark songs sound like a mix between Nick Cave and Low, with additional influences of PJ Harvey and Mazzy Star. This isn't music to cheer you up, but that's not problem. Sometimes you don't want to be cheered up and on such a moment you might want to listen to Palodine. The band consists of Michael Aryn and Katrina Whitney, with Christopher Hydinger and Christopher Howe. "Desolate Son" from 2006 was their first record and it has gotten pretty good reviews. I've got a feeling that the same will happen to the successor "Garden of Deceit", which is also released by Tarnished Records. I'm pretty impressed by the songs.
