When is your blog successful? When you get hundreds of visitors every day or when you readers often give comments? I don't know and I don't even think it's important. But of course I loved when I got my first reaction of a band about two years ago. My indieblog wasn't even six months old and I wrote my posts only in Dutch then. Ryan, the guitar player of Russian Spy Camera asked me if I could translate my post about his band in English. When I had done this, he send me their CD "You Are A Vulture", a self-made compilation CD, a T-shirt and a polaroid photograph with autographs of the two band members. I don't write these posts to receive gifts, but of course I liked this a lot.
Russian Spy Camera has finally finished it's second album and it's called "Mutiny in the Kitchen with Knives". This band from Athens, Georgia is formed by three men these days: singer/guitarist/bassist Ryan White, drummer/singer Andy Turner and keyboard player/bassist McGregor Button. They have released this album without a record company although they're still looking for one. We don't have to be really sad about this, because you can download the complete album. For free, but you can donate whatever you like. It has become a very varied, surprising and often exciting album and Russian Spy Camera deserves more than just a few local fans and some people who like to download a free CD.
