If you read my blog regularly, you might know that I don't only like and write about msic that 'rocks'. I also like dreamy, atmospheric music. There are those nigths that I like to sit in my chair or lay on my couch to listen to the music of Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine or Sigur Rós. Sian Alice Group is a new English band and their name could me added to that list without any problem.
Multi-instrumentalists Rupert Clervaux and Ben Crook founded the band together with singer Sian Ahern at the end of 2006. Sian Alice Group was later enlarged with violinist/pianist Sasha Vine and the also added Douglas Hart (Jesus & Mary Chain) and John Webster Johns for live performances. Their first releasee was the 7 inch "Nightsong" (June 2007), a song with obvious influenced of Cocteau Twins. One month ago the Sian Alice Group released the CD "59.59" on the label The Social Registry. The title of this album refers the length of the CD or double LP. On the last song of this album "Complete Affection" they were also joined by guitarist John Coxon (from Spiritualized) and piano player Brian DeGraw (Gang Gang Dance).>mp3: Way Down to Heaven
