The best way to increase the number of visitors to your website is to write about a very popular subject. This isn't easy when you write about indie music like I do. The main reason for a band to be independent is because they aren't known to a greater public. A band with a name which is a popular search term is of course very welcome. So thank you very much, The Beautiful Girls. It doesn't matter that there aren't any beautiful girls to find. There is plenty of beautiful music.
The Beautiful Girls are three not so very pretty guys (but what do I know?) from Sydney, Australia. It took some time for them to get a bit known in Europe and America, but this isn't very uncommon with Australian bands. "Ziggurats" is their fourth album, or fifth when you count the Japanese CD "Water" from 2004. The Beautiful Girls consists of frontman Mat McHugh (vocals, guitar), Paulie B (bass) and their new drummer Bruce Braybrooke. The band is still very independent from any record company, by their own choise. Their albums are only available through the band or iTunes.
Their music is very catchy and they admit the influence from The Police, or The Clash or Fischer Z. Just listen to "In Love" and "I Thought About You" on the MySpace-page of The Beautiful Girls. Or to the next songs.
