Why should a singer/songwriter make albums and perform live using the name of a band? Maybe to hide the fact that you're just on you own. Maybe it's your intention to start a band later and this way you don't have to change the name. I don't know why they do, but there are plenty of 'einzelgängers' who have chosen the name of a band as their stage name. I've reviewed dozens of them over the last few years and The Strugglers is just another one.His real name is Brice Randall Bickford and he is from the state of North Carolina. He started making music under the name The Strugglers in 2001 and since then he has produced four albums, an EP and several songs on compilation albums. His latest "The Latest Rights" will be released on the Spanish label Acuarela. On this album is being accompanied by violinist Daniel Hart (on "Morningside Heights" and other songs), multi-instrumentalist Alex Lazara and a number of very talented musicians from North Carolina. The music of The Strugglers is hard to describe, but Magnolia Electric Co. (with a somewhat heavier voice) comes pretty near.
